Broken is beautiful

Ayutthaya, ancient capital of Thailand destroyed by the Burmese centuries ago, a national drama for the Thai. Had a laugh when i read a notice in a museum explaining Ayutthaya's fall by the treacherousness of the general in charge of defending it but actually siding with the Burmese.

As for me, i would say thank you to the Burmese for the ruins and broken buddhas, more beautiful and moving than the glittery shining golden temples, as you see how the passing of time turns yesterday's destruction into today's beauty. A lesson in impermanence... and irony.
